The 11th Asia-Pacific Translation and Interpreting Forum (APTIF11), co-organised by the Hong Kong Translation Society (HKTS), the International Federation of Translators (FIT), Asian Regional Centre of the International Federation of Translators (FIT Asia) and the the Academy of Language and Culture (LAC) of Hong Kong Baptist Univeristy (HKBU) will be held at HKBU from 21 to 23 May 2025. 
 
This influential convention will feature distinguished keynote speakers including Prof. Mona Baker (University of Oslo & SISU Baker Centre for Translation & Intercultural Studies, Shanghai International Studies University), Prof. Satoshi Nakamura (The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen), Prof. Jemina Napier (Heriot-Watt University), and Ms. Alison Rodriguez (International Federation of Translators).

The event will commence with the HKTS Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony cum Master Lectures. Hong Kong Sign Language and American Sign Language interpreting services will also be provided at the conference.

Proposals are invitedfor a one-day symposium on the topic of "Culture in/and Multimedia Localisation", to be held at the Unversity of Burgundy, Dijon, France, on 23 November 2018.

The symposium will explore the question of whether, and how, theoretical models of culture may be of practical use in the field of multimedia localisation, and is open to industry professionals, researchers and translator trainers, and students.

After the success of the 1st edition, The II International Conference on Translation, Ideology and Gender aims to continue with the fruitful discussions that emerged in the first encounter. The conference invites proposals addressing issues related to the representation of gender in translated discourses and the ideological implications that the shifts of meaning may bear on female image construction. In addition, in line with its subtitle “In Sickness and in Health”, particular attention will be paid to research promoting debate around the representation of gender in the health sciences. The conference stems from the Ministry funded research project TRACEgen (TRADUCCIÓN Y CENSURA EN LA REPRESENTACIÓN DEL GENERO: FFI2012-39012-C04-04).
