The Pandanaran hotel (the workshop venue) is a good 3-star hotel in the city at a reasonable price:

(2) Kesambi Hijau Hotel--This is an old, no-fancy hotel in a quiet area. It will involve a walk to Simpang Lima area (10 minute walk), then public transport to the Pandanaran hotel or workshop venue (5 minutes). a taxi would take 10 minutes. Their rates are:

Transport

Public transport is cheap. The small mini-bus orange public transport costs IDR 3,000 to IDR 5000 (GBP 0,2  to GBP 0,35).  Taxis use argometer; costs from the above hotels would range from IDR 25,000 to IDR 50,000).
