Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish Translation & Interpreting, full-time appointment in the Department of French, Italian & Comparative Literature. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, high proficiency in at least one other language (including but not limited to Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese or a less-commonly-taught language), and Ph.D. in Spanish Translation, Interpreting or related field by date of appointment are required. Applicants should be prepared to teach Spanish <> English Translation & Interpreting courses and non-language-specific courses relevant to the Translation industry online, and to promote and expand the Spanish Translation concentration in the Master’s program in Language, Literature & Translation (MALLT). Successful candidates must have a proven commitment to teaching, in particular in the online format, and research and interest in outreach activities.
Expertise in translation technology and/or translation theory is highly desirable.
