With relevant expertise in Translation Studies, you will be an active
researcher able to enhance and extend the School¹s considerable strengths
across a broad curriculum. We particularly welcome applications from
specialists in interpreting, audiovisual translation and digital media
localisation, who are able to articulate innovative approaches to
researching and teaching collaborative translation/interpreting practice.
You will have a record of regular publication recognised as being of the
highest standard nationally and internationally, and will make a
significant contribution to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014
appropriate to your career stage. You will be an excellent teacher who
will contribute to the School¹s mission to inspire our students and
contribute to a range of teaching and learning across programmes and at
all levels, working to ensure the highest quality student experience. You
will be expected to innovate and develop research-led teaching.
You will be required to take on appropriate academic administrative
responsibilities following further discussion with the Head of School.
With excellent interpersonal skills, you should be able to communicate
effectively with students in both small and large groups. A completed PhD
in Translation Studies or a related field, good organisational and time
management skills, along with good IT skills, are also essential. The
potential to form research collaborations with other colleagues in the
School, the wider University and beyond is desirable.
