Lecturer in Translation Studies - University of Hull

Modern Languages - School of Histories, Languages and Cultures

The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures wishes to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Translation Studies with expertise in any area of the field combined with native or near-native competence in at least one of the following five languages: Chinese, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

The successful applicant will be required to teach at all levels of undergraduate provision, across a range of modules (including the School’s Interdisciplinary modules), and to lead on the MA Translation Studies which forms part of the European Commission's EMT network.

The successful applicant must have a PhD or equivalent in Translation Studies and should also have a strong research profile commensurate with career stage. There will be an opportunity to engage with and shape the research activities of the School.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic early career researcher with an interest in furthering their teaching experience in tandem with growing their research profile.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence on 1 September 2017.
